Randy Oetken is a native Oregonian. He is a graduate of West Linn High School (1976), Willamette University (1980) and McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, California. While attending law school, he worked part-time with the prestigious, insurance defense law firm of Bullen, McKone, McKinley, Gay, Keitches and Patch.
After receiving his California law degree and license in 1987, he joined the defense firm of Edson & LaPlante in Sacramento where he quickly cut his teeth as a defense trial attorney handling hundreds of cases ranging in values from a few thousand dollars to several million dollars. The firm represented numerous insurance companies (and their insured's) including State Farm, Farmers, Allstate, Travelers, St. Paul, Geico, Countrywide, Lloyds of London, Nationwide, American Family, as well as numerous others throughout the United States.
While working for these insurance companies, Randy personally handled hundreds of personal injury cases involving nearly every type of personal injury including; minor and catastrophic automobile accidents ( 2 cars to 25-40 multi-car accidents), wrongful death cases, permanent disability injuries, trucking accidents, severe dog bite injuries,DUI involved accidents and injuries, negligent gun shot injuries, traumatic brain damage cases, child injuries, explosion injury cases, bicycle accidents, motorcycle accidents, medical malpractice, premises liability, products liability and property loss.
It is with this comprehensive experience and unique understanding of how insurance companies handle and defend injury claims against injured people that Randy moved back to Oregon and started the Oetken Law Firm in 1992 focusing on representing individuals and families that have been injured or suffered loss as a result of someone else's negligence or wrongdoing.
Remember, regardless of their cute and seemingly caring commercials, insurance companies are not your friend. They are mega- million dollar business concerns that have their own internal policies specifically designed to lessen and refute, at every turn, your rightful recovery for your serious injuries. Regardless of their presentation and seemingly caring telephone calls, they only have their own best interests in mind, NOT YOURS!
Today, the practice of law requires three aspects; specialized knowledge, experience and understanding of insurance company practices. It is only prudent for you to have your own attorney protecting you. With over 25 years of litigation and jury trial experience the Oetken Law Firm provides all three aspects to our clients. If you, a friend,or a loved one, have been injured as a result of another's actions, (whether an individual, a business, an insurance company or product), you may be legally entitled to money damages. Randy has been successfully helping injured victims throughout Oregon and Washington gaining significant settlements or jury trial awards for his clients. He is confident that he will be able to help you and welcomes you to call for a free office or phone consultation today.
